Flodesk Feature Update: CLICK ACTIONS. A game changer in subscriber segmentation.
The day that all Flodesk users have been waiting for has finally come as of July 18, 2024, yes this day will go down in small business history! Click actions are here!!!
Okay maybe youāre not as excited as I am but I promise, this is a game changer for email marketing.
Why segmentation works.
Going back to what I said in the example above, you are delivering the right content to the right people.
We are all bombarded with a ton of emails daily and the quickest way to get someone to unsubscribe is by sending an email that isnāt relevant to them. So by giving your people the info they want, theyāre more likely to stick around! š
Another bonus, writing more specific content for a specific group of people is actually easier because you know what theyāre interested
š Now Introducing Flodesk Click Actions!!
When I first started my business, I used MailerLite which worked fine and when I was ready to invest, Flodesk was who I chose and Iāve never looked back. I will say that up until about 1 year ago, I was getting a little annoyed that click actions werenāt a thing.
But now Flodesk not only has beauty but brains too!
Click actions give business owners an easy way to segment their audience within an email theyāre sending. Before click actions, we would have to build a landing page and have the subscriber opt-in AGAIN so that they can be dropped into a segment. No bueno for user experience.
Here are the actions that can be triggered with a click of a link or button ā¤µ

Hereās what it looks like in an email:
Pro Tip: Make your link a thank-you page with the next steps or additional info.
Alright now letās get into some practical ways to use click actions in your email marketing.
š« Opt-Out from Launch Emails: Decrease Unsubscribes
Unsubscribes during a launch period can be brutal! Itās normal because youāre emailing more frequently and dun dun dun, hard-selling which leads people to unsubscribe. Donāt take it personally.
The good news is that now in Flodesk, you can to add a link or button that gives your subscribers permission to opt out of upcoming launch emails and remain on your email list!
How to do it: Add to segment āDNDā (Do not disturb) and then when youāre sending out your launch emails, exclude this segment from the delivery.
š„ Custom Field Segmenting: If you want to get fancy and personal with your subscribers.
This is if you wanna get really nitty-gritty in targeting your audience. Flodesk showed examples of using labels like āEnneagram 2ā and āBirthday Month.ā
Another way to use this is to let your subscribers tell you how often they want to be emailed, what they want to see, etc. Yes, this could mean more writing for you but no one is telling you that you have to use it this way, just a suggestion āŗļø.
And there you have it!
