The most underrated step in launching that could save you from tech nightmares.

Ready to launch your next offer or online course?

Before you release it to your raving fans, you’ll want to make sure that you complete this crucial step first…

Testing your tech!

It may seem so basic but it’s a step that many course creators and online business owners skip over which leads to tech nightmares during their launch.

The reality is that launching can be messy and a lot of the horror stories are centered around tech not working, leaving people feeling frustrated and swearing off ever launching again. Sigh.

Tech glitches happen to everyone no matter if it’s their first launch or their hundredth, emails won’t get sent, links won’t open, etc.

While some of the pieces of tech failing are completely out of our control there are some steps that you can take to be proactive to make launching less of a nightmare by doing a run-through of your process as a client before the big day to find and fix any issues that you encounter.

To help you put out fires before they begin, I’ve made this checklist for you.

Tech Test Checklist:

Links

Check that all of your links are working. I like to keep a list of links (main landing page, checkout page, affiliate links, etc.) in a Google Sheet.

Email Automation

Send yourself test emails and double-check your links and the sequence of the emails being delivered.

Workflow Automation

Run through your process as if you’re a client to see that your steps run smoothly.

Content Uploaded Correctly

Log into your course platform (Kajabi, Thinkific, Teachable, etc.) to see that all of your content was uploaded correctly and that it’s in order. You can also check the student portal for any design changes that need to be made.

Desktop versus Mobile View

This is a big one. Preview your landing pages in both mobile and desktop views. More and more people are using mobile devices on the go and you don’t want to miss out on a new client because your page was all jumbled.

Check-Out Page

Test that your checkout page is set up correctly and that the promo codes work. Also, check your settings for post-purchase.

And there you have it, a checklist to help you avoid launch tech drama. Now you can sit back with a celebratory cocktail and watch the sales come in!
